Ryzen 5 4500U vs Core i5-10500 comparison
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-10500 beats the Ryzen 5 4500U in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 4500U in all gaming tests too.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Core i5-10500 has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-10500 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 5 4500U. A Ryzen 5 4500U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-10500 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 4500U has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-10500. Despite this, the Core i5-10500 has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 5 4500U.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 5 4500U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
