Ryzen 5 4500U vs Core i3-1125G4 comparison
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 5 4500U performs better than the Core i3-1125G4. Despite this, the Core i3-1125G4 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 5 4500U has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the Core i3-1125G4 that has 4 cores. Despite this, the Core i3-1125G4 has more threads than the Ryzen 5 4500U. A Ryzen 5 4500U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i3-1125G4 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 5 4500U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
