Ryzen 5 3600X vs Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G benchmarks

In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G beats the Ryzen 5 3600X in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 3600X in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 5 3600X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G. Also, the Ryzen 5 3600X has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G outputs less heat than Ryzen 5 3600X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache. The Ryzen 5 3600X also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 3600X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
