Ryzen 5 3600X vs FX-8350 comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 5 3600X is faster than the FX-8350. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-8350 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 5 3600X has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the FX-8350 has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the FX-8350. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-8350 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 5 3600X. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 3600X has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 5 3600X CPU outputs less heat than a FX-8350 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the FX-8350 has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 5 3600X. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 3600X has significantly more L3 cache compared to the FX-8350.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 3600X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
