Ryzen 5 3600X vs Core i7-11700 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-11700 is faster than the Ryzen 5 3600X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 3600X in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-11700 has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Ryzen 5 3600X has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 3600X. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 3600X has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-11700. Despite this, the Core i7-11700 has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i7-11700 has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 5 3600X. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 3600X has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Core i7-11700.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 3600X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
