Ryzen 5 3600 vs Core i7-14700F benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-14700F performs better than the Ryzen 5 3600. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 3600 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-14700F has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 5 3600. Indeed, the Core i7-14700F has 20 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Ryzen 5 3600. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 3600. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 3600 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-14700F. Despite this, the Core i7-14700F has a slightly higher turbo speed. The info from our database shows that the Core i7-14700F has more L2 cache than the Ryzen 5 3600. The Core i7-14700F also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 3600 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
