Ryzen 5 3600 vs Core i7-10700K specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-10700K is faster than the Ryzen 5 3600. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 3600 in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-10700K has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Ryzen 5 3600 has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 3600. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i7-10700K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 5 3600. Also, the Core i7-10700K has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 5 3600 CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-10700K CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 3600 has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-10700K. The Ryzen 5 3600 also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 3600 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
