Ryzen 5 3550H vs Xeon W3680 benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 5 3550H performs better than the Xeon W3680. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon W3680 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon W3680 has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 3550H that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 3550H. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon W3680 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 5 3550H. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 3550H has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 5 3550H CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon W3680 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Xeon W3680 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 5 3550H
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 3550H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
