Ryzen 5 3550H vs Core i7-10875H specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-10875H beats the Ryzen 5 3550H in overall performance. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 3550H has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i7-10875H has significantly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 3550H that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 3550H. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-10875H has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 5 3550H. Also, the Core i7-10875H has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 5 3550H CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-10875H CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Core i7-10875H also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 3550H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
