Ryzen 5 3500X vs Xeon X5680 specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon X5680 is faster than the Ryzen 5 3500X. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 3500X has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Xeon X5680 has more threads. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 5 3500X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon X5680. Also, the Ryzen 5 3500X has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 5 3500X CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon X5680 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 3500X has significantly more L2 cache than the Xeon X5680. The Ryzen 5 3500X also has significantly more L3 cache.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Ryzen 5 3500X has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
