In our benchmarks, the Xeon E5-2695 v2 beats the Ryzen 5 3500X in overall performance. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 3500X has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon E5-2695 v2 has significantly more cores with 12 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 3500X that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 3500X. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 3500X has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-2695 v2. Also, the Ryzen 5 3500X has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 5 3500X CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2695 v2 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP.
