Ryzen 5 3500X vs Xeon E5-2650 v3 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 5 3500X is faster than the Xeon E5-2650 v3. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-2650 v3 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Xeon E5-2650 v3 has significantly more cores with 10 cores whereas the Ryzen 5 3500X has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 3500X. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 3500X has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-2650 v3. Also, the Ryzen 5 3500X has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 5 3500X CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2650 v3 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Ryzen 5 3500X has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
