Ryzen 5 3500X vs Ryzen 5 PRO 4650U benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650U is faster than the Ryzen 5 3500X. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 3500X has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650U has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 3500X has a significantly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650U. The Ryzen 5 PRO 4650U outputs less heat than Ryzen 5 3500X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. When comparing cache sizes, these CPUs have an identical amount of L2 cache. The Ryzen 5 3500X also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 5 3500X has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
