Ryzen 5 3500X vs Core i7-10710U benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-10710U performs better than the Ryzen 5 3500X. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 3500X has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Core i7-10710U has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 3500X has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-10710U. Despite this, the Core i7-10710U has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-10710U outputs less heat than Ryzen 5 3500X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 5 3500X has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-10710U. The Ryzen 5 3500X also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 5 3500X has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
