Ryzen 5 3500X vs Core i5-11400T comparison
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 5 3500X beats the Core i5-11400T in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-11400T in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Core i5-11400T has more threads. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 5 3500X has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-11400T. Also, the Ryzen 5 3500X has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i5-11400T outputs less heat than Ryzen 5 3500X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Ryzen 5 3500X also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 5 3500X has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
