Ryzen 5 3500U vs FX-8150 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 5 3500U is faster than the FX-8150. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-8150 in all gaming tests too.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the FX-8150 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 5 3500U. A Ryzen 5 3500U CPU outputs less heat than a FX-8150 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the FX-8150 has more L2 cache than the Ryzen 5 3500U. The FX-8150 also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 3500U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
