Ryzen 5 3500U vs A6-5200 specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 5 3500U beats the A6-5200 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the A6-5200 in all gaming tests too.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Ryzen 5 3500U has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 3500U has a slightly higher clock speed than the A6-5200. A Ryzen 5 3500U CPU outputs less heat than a A6-5200 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 3500U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
