Ryzen 5 3500 vs Ryzen 5 3500X specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 5 3500X is faster than the Ryzen 5 3500. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 3500 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. Both the Ryzen 5 3500 and Ryzen 5 3500X have the same clock speed. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache. The Ryzen 5 3500X also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 5 3500 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
