Ryzen 5 3500 vs Core i7-8850H benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 5 3500 performs better than the Core i7-8850H. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-8850H in all gaming tests too.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Core i7-8850H has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 3500 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-8850H. Despite this, the Core i7-8850H has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-8850H outputs less heat than Ryzen 5 3500 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 5 3500 has more L2 cache than the Core i7-8850H. The Ryzen 5 3500 also has slightly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Ryzen 5 3500 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
