Ryzen 5 3500 vs Core i7-11700F benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-11700F performs better than the Ryzen 5 3500. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 3500 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-11700F has slightly more cores than the Ryzen 5 3500. Indeed, the Core i7-11700F has 8 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Ryzen 5 3500. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 3500. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 5 3500 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-11700F. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i7-11700F has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 5 3500. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads.
