Ryzen 5 3500 vs Core i5-1240P benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 5 3500 performs better than the Core i5-1240P. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-1240P in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-1240P has significantly more cores with 12 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 3500 that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 3500. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 3500 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-1240P. The Core i5-1240P outputs less heat than Ryzen 5 3500 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i5-1240P has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 5 3500. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 3500 has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Core i5-1240P.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Ryzen 5 3500 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
