Ryzen 5 3400G vs Ryzen 5 5600H specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 5 5600H beats the Ryzen 5 3400G in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 3400G in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 5 5600H has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 3400G that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 3400G. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 3400G has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 5 5600H. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. The Ryzen 5 5600H outputs less heat than Ryzen 5 3400G thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 5600H has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 5 3400G. The Ryzen 5 5600H also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 3400G has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
