Ryzen 5 2600X vs Ryzen 7 5800X3D specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is faster than the Ryzen 5 2600X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 2600X in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D has slightly more cores than the Ryzen 5 2600X. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D has 8 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Ryzen 5 2600X. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 2600X. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 2600X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 5 2600X CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D has slightly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 5 2600X. The Ryzen 7 5800X3D also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 2600X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
