Ryzen 5 2600 vs FX-8320E benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 5 2600 performs better than the FX-8320E. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the FX-8320E in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 5 2600 has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the FX-8320E that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the FX-8320E. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 5 2600 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the FX-8320E. A Ryzen 5 2600 CPU outputs less heat than a FX-8320E CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 2600 has significantly more L2 cache than the FX-8320E. The Ryzen 5 2600 also has significantly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 2600 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
