Ryzen 5 2500U vs Core i5-7500T comparison

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 5 2500U performs better than the Core i5-7500T. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-7500T in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Ryzen 5 2500U has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-7500T has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 5 2500U. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 2500U has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 5 2500U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-7500T CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 5 2500U has more L2 cache than the Core i5-7500T. Despite this, the Core i5-7500T has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 5 2500U.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 2500U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
