Ryzen 5 2500U vs Celeron G6900 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 5 2500U is faster than the Celeron G6900. Despite this, the Celeron G6900 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 5 2500U has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the Celeron G6900 that has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the Celeron G6900. With our hardware info, we find that the Celeron G6900 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 5 2500U. A Ryzen 5 2500U CPU outputs less heat than a Celeron G6900 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Celeron G6900 has slightly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 5 2500U. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 2500U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
