Ryzen 5 2400G vs Core i5-10400F benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i5-10400F performs better than the Ryzen 5 2400G. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 2400G in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-10400F has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the Ryzen 5 2400G has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 2400G. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 2400G has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i5-10400F. Despite this, the Core i5-10400F has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 5 2400G has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-10400F. Despite this, the Core i5-10400F has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 5 2400G.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 2400G has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
