Ryzen 5 1600X vs Core i5-1245U specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-1245U beats the Ryzen 5 1600X in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 1600X in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-1245U has significantly more cores with 10 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 1600X that has 6 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 5 1600X has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-1245U. In terms of cache, the Core i5-1245U has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 5 1600X. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 1600X has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Core i5-1245U.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 1600X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
