Ryzen 5 1500X vs Core i7-8700T benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-8700T is faster than the Ryzen 5 1500X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 1500X in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-8700T has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 5 1500X. Indeed, the Core i7-8700T has 6 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Ryzen 5 1500X. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 1500X. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 1500X has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-8700T. Despite this, the Core i7-8700T has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-8700T outputs less heat than Ryzen 5 1500X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 1500X has slightly more L2 cache than the Core i7-8700T. The Ryzen 5 1500X also has slightly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 1500X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
