Ryzen 5 1500X vs Core i5-10500H benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i5-10500H performs better than the Ryzen 5 1500X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 1500X in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i5-10500H has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 5 1500X. Indeed, the Core i5-10500H has 6 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Ryzen 5 1500X. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 1500X. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 1500X has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i5-10500H. Despite this, the Core i5-10500H has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i5-10500H outputs less heat than Ryzen 5 1500X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 1500X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
