Ryzen 5 1500X vs Core i3-1220P benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 5 1500X beats the Core i3-1220P in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i3-1220P in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i3-1220P has significantly more cores with 10 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 1500X that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 5 1500X. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 5 1500X has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i3-1220P. Despite this, the Core i3-1220P has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i3-1220P outputs less heat than Ryzen 5 1500X thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i3-1220P has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 5 1500X. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 1500X has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Core i3-1220P.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 1500X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
