Ryzen 5 1500X vs Core i3-10100 benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i3-10100 performs better than the Ryzen 5 1500X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 1500X in all gaming tests too.

Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i3-10100 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 5 1500X. Also, the Core i3-10100 has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 5 1500X has more L2 cache than the Core i3-10100. The Ryzen 5 1500X also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 1500X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
