Ryzen 5 1400 vs Core i7-6700T benchmarks

In our benchmarks, the Core i7-6700T beats the Ryzen 5 1400 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 5 1400 in all gaming tests too.

Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 1400 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-6700T. Despite this, the Core i7-6700T has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-6700T outputs less heat than Ryzen 5 1400 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 1400 has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-6700T. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 1400 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
