Ryzen 5 1400 vs Core i3-N300 comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i3-N300 is faster than the Ryzen 5 1400. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 1400 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i3-N300 has significantly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Ryzen 5 1400 that has 4 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 5 1400 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i3-N300. Despite this, the Core i3-N300 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i3-N300 outputs less heat than Ryzen 5 1400 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i3-N300 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 5 1400. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 1400 has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Core i3-N300.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 5 1400 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
