Ryzen 3 7320U vs Core i3-1315U specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i3-1315U is faster than the Ryzen 3 7320U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 7320U in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i3-1315U has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the Ryzen 3 7320U that has 4 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 7320U has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i3-1315U. Despite this, the Core i3-1315U has a slightly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache. The Core i3-1315U also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 7320U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
