Ryzen 3 5300U vs Core i7-9700F benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-9700F performs better than the Ryzen 3 5300U. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 5300U in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-9700F has significantly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Ryzen 3 5300U has 4 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-9700F has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 3 5300U. Also, the Core i7-9700F has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 5300U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-9700F CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache. The Core i7-9700F also has significantly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 5300U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
