Ryzen 3 5300U vs Core i3-N305 comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 3 5300U is faster than the Core i3-N305. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i3-N305 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i3-N305 has significantly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Ryzen 3 5300U that has 4 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 3 5300U has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i3-N305. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i3-N305 has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 3 5300U. The Core i3-N305 also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 5300U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
