Ryzen 3 5300U vs Core i3-9100F benchmarks

In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 3 5300U beats the Core i3-9100F in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i3-9100F has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Ryzen 3 5300U has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i3-9100F has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 3 5300U. Also, the Core i3-9100F has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 5300U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i3-9100F CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 5300U has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i3-9100F. Despite this, the Core i3-9100F has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 3 5300U.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 5300U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
