Ryzen 3 5300G vs Ryzen 7 3700X comparison

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 7 3700X performs better than the Ryzen 3 5300G. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 5300G in all gaming tests too.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 7 3700X has significantly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Ryzen 3 5300G that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 5300G. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 3 5300G has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 7 3700X. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 3700X has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 7 3700X has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 3 5300G. The Ryzen 7 3700X also has significantly more L3 cache.

The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 5300G has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
