Ryzen 3 5300G vs Core i7-9700 specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-9700 beats the Ryzen 3 5300G in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 5300G in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-9700 has significantly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Ryzen 3 5300G has 4 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 3 5300G has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-9700. Despite this, the Core i7-9700 has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache. The Core i7-9700 also has significantly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 5300G has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
