Ryzen 3 5300G vs Core i7-5820K comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-5820K is faster than the Ryzen 3 5300G. Despite this, the Ryzen 3 5300G has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-5820K has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the Ryzen 3 5300G has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 5300G. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 3 5300G has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-5820K. Also, the Ryzen 3 5300G has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 5300G CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-5820K CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 5300G has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
