Ryzen 3 5300G vs Core i5-12500H benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i5-12500H performs better than the Ryzen 3 5300G. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 5300G in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i5-12500H has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 3 5300G. Indeed, the Core i5-12500H has 12 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Ryzen 3 5300G. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 5300G. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 3 5300G has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-12500H. Despite this, the Core i5-12500H has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i5-12500H outputs less heat than Ryzen 3 5300G thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i5-12500H has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 3 5300G. The Core i5-12500H also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 5300G has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
