Ryzen 3 4300U vs Ryzen 5 7430U specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 5 7430U beats the Ryzen 3 4300U in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 4300U in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 5 7430U has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the Ryzen 3 4300U that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 4300U. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 3 4300U has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 5 7430U. Despite this, the Ryzen 5 7430U has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 5 7430U has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Ryzen 3 4300U. The Ryzen 5 7430U also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 4300U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
