Ryzen 3 4300U vs Core i7-4790 benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-4790 is faster than the Ryzen 3 4300U. Despite this, the Ryzen 3 4300U has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Core i7-4790 has more threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i7-4790 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 3 4300U. Also, the Core i7-4790 has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 4300U CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-4790 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 3 4300U has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-4790. Despite this, the Core i7-4790 has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 3 4300U.

This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 4300U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
