Ryzen 3 4300G vs Core i7-9700F comparison
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-9700F beats the Ryzen 3 4300G in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 4300G in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i7-9700F has significantly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Ryzen 3 4300G that has 4 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 3 4300G has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-9700F. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches. The Core i7-9700F also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 4300G has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
