Ryzen 3 4300G vs Core i5-8600K comparison

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-8600K is faster than the Ryzen 3 4300G. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 4300G in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-8600K has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the Ryzen 3 4300G has 4 cores. Despite this, the Ryzen 3 4300G has more threads than the Core i5-8600K. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 3 4300G has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-8600K. A Ryzen 3 4300G CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-8600K CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 3 4300G has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-8600K. Despite this, the Core i5-8600K has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 3 4300G.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 4300G has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
