Ryzen 3 4300G vs Core i5-10400 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-10400 is faster than the Ryzen 3 4300G. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 4300G in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-10400 has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the Ryzen 3 4300G that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 4300G. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 4300G has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-10400. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 3 4300G has slightly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-10400. Despite this, the Core i5-10400 has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 3 4300G.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 4300G has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
