Ryzen 3 4100 vs Ryzen 7 5800XT comparison
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 7 5800XT beats the Ryzen 3 4100 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 4100 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen 7 5800XT has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 3 4100. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5800XT has 8 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Ryzen 3 4100. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 4100. In terms of clock speed, the Ryzen 3 4100 and Ryzen 7 5800XT are identical in this regard. Despite this, the Ryzen 7 5800XT has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 4100 CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 7 5800XT CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 5800XT has significantly more L2 cache than the Ryzen 3 4100. The Ryzen 7 5800XT also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 4100 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
