Ryzen 3 3300X vs Core i5-10400F benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i5-10400F performs better than the Ryzen 3 3300X. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 3 3300X in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-10400F has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the Ryzen 3 3300X has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 3300X. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 3 3300X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-10400F. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 3300X has slightly more L2 cache than the Core i5-10400F. The Ryzen 3 3300X also has slightly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Ryzen 3 3300X has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
