Ryzen 3 3300U vs Xeon E5-2630 v4 comparison
In our benchmarks, the Xeon E5-2630 v4 beats the Ryzen 3 3300U in overall performance. Despite this, the Ryzen 3 3300U has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Xeon E5-2630 v4 has significantly more cores than the Ryzen 3 3300U. Indeed, the Xeon E5-2630 v4 has 10 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Ryzen 3 3300U. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 3300U. Our comparison shows that the Xeon E5-2630 v4 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Ryzen 3 3300U. Despite this, the Ryzen 3 3300U has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Ryzen 3 3300U CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2630 v4 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Ryzen 3 3300U has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
